What’s the difference between a transmission fluid change and a full flush and fill service?

Some people have a fluid change done more frequently than a full transmission flush and fill. A fluid exchange typically involves replacing about 60-75% of the transmission fluid with new fluid, while leaving a lot of the old fluid behind. The only way to guarantee clean, effective fluid is a full flush and fill to clean out the system.
